SJ60/38 Single Screw Extruder is designed for HDPE gas and water pipe extrusion applications requiring stable melt pressure, precise wall thickness control and efficient plasticization. The 38:1 long L/D barrier screw supports superior homogenization for virgin and recycled HDPE materials.

The SJ60/38 features a single screw design known for simple and effective melting and mixing. The 60mm screw diameter and 38:1 L/D ratio provide excellent processing capability for a wide range of polymers.
The integrated vacuum loader system automatically conveys raw materials from storage bins to the extruder hopper, minimizing manual handling and reducing dust or moisture contamination.
The hopper dryer removes moisture from hygroscopic materials before they enter the extruder. Temperature control and airflow management help maintain stable material condition and final product quality.
The gravimetric weighing system accurately measures and controls material feed rate, helping maintain precise dosing, formulation consistency and real-time linkage with the extruder control system.

SJ60/38 means the screw diameter is 60mm and the L/D ratio is 38:1. This long L/D design is suitable for HDPE water and gas pipe production.
It is mainly used for HDPE, MDPE, PE100 and PE80 raw pellets. It is also compatible with PP, clean recycled PE scraps and PE with carbon black or calcium carbonate filler.
It is suitable for HDPE pipe OD 63mm to 250mm water supply and gas pipeline production, and can also be used for thick PP sheet and hollow grid board production.
Stable continuous output is 180-300 kg/h for HDPE PE100 virgin material.
The screw ensures uniform plasticization and stable melt pressure. The system can support online gravimetric wall thickness control linkage and closed-loop screw speed adjustment.
No. The barrier screw uses a mild shear design with slow temperature rise, supporting low-temperature extrusion and stable HDPE pipe quality.
Up to 30% clean crushed PE pipe regrind can be added without reducing pipe physical performance. Impure, wet or polluted recycled material is not recommended.
Standard screw and barrel use 38CrMoAlA alloy steel with deep nitriding treatment. Bimetallic screw and barrel are optional for high calcium carbonate filling production.
For normal HDPE virgin material, service life is typically 4-5 years under continuous 24-hour operation.
The barrel uses segmented cast aluminum heaters with forced air cooling and independent spiral water cooling at the feeding section. Temperature control accuracy is about +/-1C.
